74-year-old man dies at Ein Gedi beach

A 74-year-old tourist drowned in the Dead Sea at the Ein Gedi beach on Monday.

Magen David Adom paramedics were unable to resuscitate him.

The Dead Sea is the world’s lowest point. Its waters are 33.7% salt — among the world’s saltiest. Because of its exceptionally high salinity, swimmers float on the water, making it especially difficult to drown.
