The Israeli windsurfers started their quest for gold on Tuesday, while Alice Schlesinger, the country’s top female judoka, was eliminated by the reigning world champion. On Wednesday gymnast Alex Shatilov will try to win his first Olympic medal.

Schlesinger advanced to the final 16, but couldn’t get beyond the world champion.

Medal hopefuls Shahar Tzuberi and Lee Korzits entered the competition ring. After two races Tzuberi’s ranked 10th, and Korzits, who won her first race, is in 2nd place.

Nofar Edelman finished races 3 and 4, and after her second day of competition was 33rd in the overall standing.

The tennis duo Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich had their match postponed.

Wednesday, August 1

Gymnast Alex Shatilov will be in the finals of the mens all around, as he tries to win Israel’s first ever medal in gymnastics, and the country’s first medal in 2012.

Three of Israel’s sailors will compete in the afternoon, including medal hopefuls Shahar Tzuberi and Lee Korzits. While these aren’t medal races, it’s a great chance to see the top windsurfers at work.

Remember: Event times are listed as they appear in London — please make the right adjustments (Israelis add 2 hours; US East Coast residents subtract 5).

Here’s the Wednesday schedule:

  • Swimming: Yakov Toumarkin will swim the 200m backstroke; qualifying heats at 10:39-11:04am, semifinals 7:48-7:57pm. Gal Nevo will swim the 200m medley; qualifying heats at 11:47am-12:29pm, semifinals 8:37-8:47pm.
  • Sailing: Shahar Tzuberi and Lee Korzits will take their RS:X windsurfers out for races 3 and 4, while Nofar Edelman enters races 5 and 6. All three will sail between 12-6pm.
  • In the finals: Alex Shatilov, (gymnastics, men’s all around), 4:30pm.
