DAMASCUS, Syria — Syria’s state news agency said two bombs exploded in a Damascus suburb on Wednesday evening, causing “many” casualties.
Free Syrian Army leader Riad al-Asaad tweeted that hundreds were killed and injured in the bombings.
A video uploaded to YouTube claimed to show a massive cloud of smoke rising from one of the blast sites following Wednesday’s bombings.
SANA said the first bomb went off Wednesday near a secondary school in the Qudsayya suburb followed by a second explosion about 200 meters (218 yards) away. The agency said school students were not among those hurt.
