Two arrested for rape of South African tourist
17-year-old girl's stolen cellphone found with one suspect, who claims he bought it from the other

Two men, an Israeli Arab from Umm al–Fahm and a Sudanese national, were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the alleged rape of a 17-year-old female tourist from South Africa in Tel Aviv early last week.
The young woman told police that when she entered a bathroom at Tel Aviv’s Banana Beach she was raped by a man, when then also stole her cellphone.
One man was arrested on Wednesday with the victim’s cellphone in his possession. He claimed to have bought it from a second man, who was then also arrested.
The men, both of whom are in their 20s, were to be remanded later Thursday at the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court.
