Israeli critically injured in shooting attack in West Bank
IDF, police searching for suspects who opened fire on group of Israelis near settlement of Dolev, northwest of Jerusalem
An Israeli man was in critical condition and another moderately injured after a shooting attack in the West Bank Friday afternoon.
According to initial reports, the two men in their mid-20s were traveling in their car after visiting a spring near the the settlement of Dolev, northwest of Jerusalem, when they were flagged down by a Palestinian man, seemingly asking them for help. According to Ynet, they were shot at point-blank range.
Security forces and paramedics were called to the scene. An IDF helicopter evacuated the wounded to Tel Hashomer Hospital near Tel Aviv.
An MDA medic who was first on the scene said the critically injured man was shot in the upper body and was found unconscious and without a pulse before he was resuscitated and then transferred to hospital for further treatment.
A large deployment of soldiers aided by Israel Police were searching for at least one shooter.
