A father and son were killed Wednesday morning in a drive-by shooting in the Upper Galilee region of northern Israel.
The men were shot to death in their car near the area of Deir al-Asad.
An initial police investigation pointed to the shooting being part of an ongoing conflict between local families, according to the Ynet news site.
The victims, reportedly residents of the neighboring village of Bi’ne, were caught in a hail of bullets fired from a passing car at Deir al-Assad junction.
They were named as Salah Hasarma, 50, and Loua’i Hasarma, 25.
The killing apparently came as part of a dispute with another local family, which has claimed four members of the Hasarma clan in recent years, according to Israeli news site Ynet.
“We are waiting for the fight to end,” a relative told the news site. “We are living in constant fear for our lives. We want the elders to intervene because otherwise the killings will continue.”
