Two people killed in separate brawls in northern Israel

Man stabbed to death in Kiryat Shmona; woman dies in shooting in Kafr Qara, 2 others injured

Two people were killed on Monday in separate brawls in northern Israel, police said.

In one incident, a man was stabbed to death during a fight in Kiryat Shmona.

Police said they arrested a suspected in the stabbing, which occurred at an apartment in the city.

Later Monday, a woman died after being shot in Kafr Qara during what police said was a large brawl in the Arab-Israeli town.

Police also said that one person was moderately wounded in the shooting, while an additional person was lightly injured.

Police added that a large number of officers were deployed to town following the shooting.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the respective confrontations.
