UCLA campus on lockdown amid reports of shootings
Two people are said to have been shot; armed officers sweep school buildings
LOS ANGELES — Police responded to a report of a possible shooter at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Campus media relations officer Rebecca Kendall said police are on the scene Wednesday morning at Boelter Hall, a science building.
Initial reports suggested at least two people may have been shot.
“We have no confirmation yet of victims but we received a call with two possible victims, that’s all we have right now,” Jenny Houser, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles police department told AFP. She added that the sprawling campus was placed on lockdown as police searched university buildings.
Numerous officers could be seen on the campus on the west side of the city.
Kendall said the report came in about 9:55 a.m.
