Uri Geller offers to fix iPhone bending

Israeli psychic says he can help Apple solve problem with newest device

Israeli entertainer and self-proclaimed “mystifier” Uri Geller says he holds the answer to the iPhone 6 Plus’s reported bending problem.

In a tongue-in-cheek YouTube video published Saturday, Geller sits down with International Business Times UK technology reporter Anthony Cuthbertson to see if he can bend the newest Apple iPhone.

Geller bends a spoon with ease, but is then unable to bend two non-Apple smartphones.

Finally, the reporter hands him an iPhone 6, saying, “Everyone knows the iPhone 6 can bend. Let’s see what you can do.”

“Bend. Bend,” says Geller, as he holds the device; then, with some simple editing, he “bends” the phone.

“Apple, I can solve your problem,” Geller tells the camera.

In a statement Thursday, Apple defended its manufacturing standards and said bending “is extremely rare” with normal use of the massive iPhone.

The company said that only nine customers had contacted Apple to report a bent iPhone 6 Plus since they went on sale.
