Vintage gets $290 million in investor commitments for new fund
'Fund of VC funds' will invest in venture capital firms in the US, Europe and Israel; brings assets managed by Herzliya-based Vintage to $1.8 billion
Israeli technology investment firm Vintage Investment Partners said it has completed the first closing of $290 million in commitments by investors to its fifth fund of venture funds, its eleventh fund in total.
Vintage’s new “fund of VC funds” will invest in three main segments: its Access Fund will invest in “leading” US and European venture funds worth over $100 million; its Emerging Fund will invest in smaller US and European venture funds; and its Israel Fund will invest in “leading Israeli venture funds.”
The closing of this new fund of funds brings Vintage’s assets under management to $1.8 billion, the statement said. The firm, which has already invested in several global venture funds with exposure to over a thousand technology companies, uses its network to connect thousands of startups to corporations seeking new technologies, the statement said.
The Vintage general partners are Alan Feld, Abe Finkelstein, Amit Frenkel and Ehud Hai, along with 34 team members.
