Wanted fugitives: A clown, a sailor & old St. Nick
Police are searching for 3 costumed Purim revelers who assaulted officers during a Jerusalem party in March
Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down three people who allegedly assaulted officers at a Jerusalem street party during the Purim holiday in March. The problem? Officials have no way of identifying the revelers, as they were wearing costumes at the time.
Authorities told Channel 10 News the incident occurred during a mass street party in the capital’s Nahlaot neighborhood, when officers were called to deal with a complaint of excessive noise outside the party area.
Officials said the three policemen were then surrounded by angry party-goers who attacked them, hit them and poured water on one of the officers. Three people police believe to be responsible for the incident were dressed as Santa Claus, a sailor and a clown. They fled the scene after the incident and were lost in the crowds.
Police have had footage of the event for months, but have not been able to make any headway in finding the suspects due to the costumes they were wearing at the time.
Now officials are appealing to the public, hoping others who were at the scene or know the suspects will help identify them.
