A woman, 28, and her year-old son were found dead in their Haifa home Thursday morning.
Magen David Adom emergency service medics who arrived at the scene said both showed no vital signs and declared them dead at the scene.
The woman’s husband found the pair after returning home from an overnight shift, according to Hebrew media reports. He then called the police and MDA.
Initial indications were that the baby boy had been dead for several hours and there were no obvious signs of violence on his body, reports said.
The boy was found in a playroom and the mother in the kitchen, according to Channel 12.
The Israel Police opened an investigation and said forensic teams were examining the apartment.
