Animal lovers channel their favorite pet in heartfelt video
In honor of International Animal Rights Day, Israeli activists learn new tricks
In honor of International Animal Rights Day, marked annually on December 10, 110 Israeli activists from organizations Anonymous for the Rights of Animals, Let Animals Live and Vegan Friendly Israel gathered to show that animals have hearts, too.
“This will make anyone’s heart expand,” posted Vegan Friendly Israel on its official Facebook page.
Portraying dogs and their beating hearts, the activists filed in and out of different canine formations, ending the 1:20 video with the message: “All animals have hearts, why pet one and eat the other?”
It’s a potent message for Israelis, who are reported to have 400,000 dogs as pets, and particularly in Tel Aviv, where the clip was filmed, which counts 30,000 canines in the city.
Tel Aviv is also considered the vegan capital of the world, with 400 vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants, and some 200,000 vegan residents.
