Police were investigating a suspected murder after the body of a teenage girl was discovered in a park outside the Galilee town of Kisra-Sumei on Tuesday afternoon.

The girl’s body showed signs of violence, police said in a statement.

“When we arrived at the scene we found a girl of about 15 without a pulse and her body showed signs of major violence,” MDA medic Gilad Yosef said. “After performing medical tests we had to declare her dead at the scene.”

Large numbers of police arrived at the scene and opened an investigation into the circumstances of the girl’s death.

It was the second murder investigation opened by police in northern Israel on Tuesday.

Earlier, the body of a young woman was discovered on the side of the road near the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel.

Police said the woman’s body showed signs of violence, making it difficult for authorities to identify the victim.

An investigation was launched into the circumstances of her death.
