Police were investigating a suspected murder after a woman’s body was discovered Tuesday morning near the Sea of Galilee in the north of Israel.
The lifeless body of the woman, in her twenties, was discovered at the side of the road between Kibbutz Ginosar and the town of Migdal.
Reportedly, the nature of the women’s injuries made it difficult to identify her.
“A short while ago the body of a woman was found near the Migdal junction with signs of violence,” a police spokesperson said. “A large contingent of police are on their way to the site. The causes of the incident are not clear.”
The ambulance service confirmed the police account.

“When we reached the scene we saw [the body of] a young woman in her twenties lying at the side of the road, with severe signs of physical violence on her upper body,” said Meir Ashraf, a paramedic with Magen David Adom. “She showed no signs of life.”
No further details were immediately available known about the identity woman or possible motives behind the suspected murder. According to Hebrew media, there were no reports of any missing local women.
