Netanyahu’s speech gets a remix
Video mocks premier's focus on Iran and the endless standing ovations during his address to Congress
A remix of Prime Minister’s Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress, released on Wednesday, pokes fun at the premier’s stream of standing ovations, and repeated emphasis on Iran.
In the edited video, created by Noy Alooshe, the prime minister begins: “Ladies and Gentlemen, we must always remember three things: Iran, Iran, Iran.” The clip also exaggerates Netanyahu’s standing ovations — some 25 overall — by juxtaposing them with Netanyahu saying: Stand, down! Stand, down!
In the background, Jewish Home party leader Naftali Bennett is shown happily watching a recording of the speech, and bopping his head in time with the music.
The clip concludes with a jab at the strained US-Israel ties, with Netanyahu “saying”: “President Barack Obama, we’re better off without him.”
This isn’t the first time Alooshe has spoofed Netanyahu, and other politicians haven’t been spared his treatment either.
After the last government dissolved, Alooshe released a clip parodying former finance minister Yair Lapid’s speech, in which he called the prime minister “disconnected.”
