Sirens wail, blasts heard in Eilat

Warning sirens blared and residents reported hearing explosions shortly after midnight in the southern Israeli city of Eilat.

The IDF was investigating the source and location of any possible blasts.

On Friday, what was reported to be an Israeli drone targeted al-Qaeda-linked terrorists in the northern Sinai Peninsula, killing four and destroying a rocket launcher. The move came following a warning from Egyptian security officials, who reportedly conveyed to Israel that jihadists in the Sinai were planning imminent attacks against Israeli targets.
