Spiritual ballad tops Israeli charts
Male singers dominate the annual Rosh Hashanah best song countdown
“Fireworks,” a song by Mizrachi singer Moshe Peretz, was named the top song of the year in the annual Rosh Hashanah top 100 countdown hosted by Israel Radio’s Reshet Gimmel and Nana10.
Voted by listeners as the most moving ballad of 5772, it was a first for the 29-year-old Peretz, who started out as a choir boy in his Tiberias synagogue.
The runners-up were Eyal Golan’s “When You’re With Him” in second place and a duet of “My God,” by Shlomo Artzi and Avraham Tal.
