On Thursday, Arik Zeevi was eliminated from the London Olympics after 43 seconds, while swimmer Yakov Toumarkin finished seventh in the 200 meter backstroke, the best ever result by an Israeli swimmer at the Summer Games.

The tennis duo of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram lost a nail-biter to the American Bryan brothers, 7-6, 7-6, and were eliminated from the tournament.

Shahar Tzuberi and Lee Korzits sailed in their fifth and sixth races. Tzuberi finished the day 10th in the overall rankings, while Korzits further solidified her medal hopes as she finished the day in third place.

Gideon Kliger and Eran Sela sailed their 470 model in the first two races, and ranked 19th overall.

Friday, August 3

On Friday, five Israeli sailors will ride the waves near Weymouth and Portland, in southern England.

Sergy Rikhter finished one point shy of the finals in his first shooting event, and he hopes to have a better showing in his second.

Here’s Friday’s schedule:

  • Shooting: Sergy Rikhter will compete in the 50m air rifle 3 positions, trying to qualify at 9-10:45am, and the finals will take place at 12-12:20pm.
  • Sailing: Gil Cohen and Vered Buskila will take their 470 out for races 1 and 2, Gideon Kliger and Eran Sela will partake in races 3 and 4, while Nofar Edelman participates in races 7 and 8. All events will take place between 12-6pm.

Remember: Event times are listed as they appear in London — please make the right adjustments (Israelis add 2 hours; US East Coast residents subtract 5).
