We’re here to tell you that you CAN be both progressive AND pro-Israel. Progressive Democrats are a key piece of the fabric of our movement. We MUST stand against those who dangerously assert that you can’t be pro-Israel and hold progressive values.
These proud pro-Israel progressives in Congress know Rep. Tlaib is WRONG:
Representative Rashida Tlaib dismissed the existence of pro-Israel progressives by telling reporters that “You cannot hold progressive values, yet back Israel’s apartheid government.” In additional to insulting millions of pro-Israel progressives, Tlaib also spreads the dangerous lie that Israel — the only liberal democracy in the region — is an apartheid state.
Rep. Tlaib does not want to accept that Israel is a partner for American progressives. DON’T LET REP. TLAIB DEFINE WHO YOU ARE.
In Israel, Arab Israelis hold political office as well as prominent roles throughout society, Tel Aviv hosts the largest gay pride parade in the Middle East and Asia, and Israel is one of the United States’ most important partners in fighting climate change. Supporting the only democratic state in the Middle East IS a progressive value.
