At a moment when Jewish communities worldwide are confronting rising antisemitism, political polarization, social fragmentation, and the lasting aftershocks of October 7, 150 members of Voice of the People’s first global Council have spent the past year and a half working across time zones, ideologies, and continents to develop new ideas for the future of Jewish communal life.
Launched by President Isaac Herzog, the initiative brought together an unusually broad coalition of Jewish leaders, thinkers, creators, educators, entrepreneurs, activists, and community-builders from across Israel and the Diaspora.
The goal was not consensus. In many cases, participants fundamentally disagreed with one another. The effort was built around a different premise: that serious disagreement, sustained engagement, and long-term collaboration could produce stronger ideas, deeper relationships, and more resilient communities.
On June 3, the first of those projects will be presented publicly for the first time during From Blueprints to Life, a virtual event featuring President Herzog, Voice of the People CEO Shirel Dagan-Levy, and journalist and anchorwoman Amalia Duek.
The projects emerging from the Council span issues ranging from antisemitism and artificial intelligence to Jewish identity, education, cultural resilience, and the evolving relationship between Israeli and Diaspora communities. Some focus on policy and institution-building. Others explore technology, culture, education, or community-building.
One of the central ideas behind Voice of the People was creating a framework that allowed participants to engage with one another over an extended period of time, beyond one-off conferences or reactive public debates. Over many months, discussions evolved into working groups, collaborative projects, and ongoing exchanges between people who might otherwise never have meaningfully encountered one another.
The June 3 event marks the first major public milestone of that process.
The program will include conversations with President Herzog and Council members, audience interaction, documentary-style segments following the groups’ work, and presentations from selected projects.
At a time when much of Jewish public life is dominated by crisis and reaction, Voice of the People is attempting to create something rarer: a long-term global conversation about Jewish responsibility, belonging, leadership, and the future of Jewish life in the decades ahead.
Voice of the People’s virtual event, From Blueprints to Life, will take place on Wednesday, June 3 at 7:00 PM Israel time / 9:00 AM PST.
The event is open globally and will feature live conversations, audience participation, and presentations from members of Voice of the People’s inaugural Council cohort.
