Sheba Global

Dr Ben Boursi, from Sheba’s Gastrointestinal Cancer Department, is exploring how the bacteria, viruses, and fungi in our bodies influence cancer progression and treatment response.

Recent research at Sheba Medical Center is uncovering the microbiome’s significant role in cancer treatment. Dr Ben Boursi, a physician in the Gastrointestinal Cancer Department, and his team are exploring how the bacteria, viruses, and fungi within our bodies influence cancer progression and treatment responses. Their study suggests that unique microbial signatures may predict how patients respond to therapies.
