Former pro dancer now diagnoses brain disorders with AI at Sheba

Sheba Global

Dr. Livny-Ezer’s groundbreaking work uses neuroimaging, functional MRI, and AI to help revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders like concussion and depression.

Meet Abigail Livny-Ezer, PhD, Director of the Diagnostic Neuroimaging Laboratory at Sheba Medical Center and a pioneer in brain disorder research.

From a career as a dancer to becoming a world-renowned neuroscientist, Dr. Livny-Ezer is no stranger to perseverance and passion. Her groundbreaking work in the field of neurology, using neuroimaging, functional MRI, and AI is helping revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders like concussion and depression.

Her research focuses on the way the brain reorganizes due to acute and chronic neuro-pathologies and how such reorganization in both brain structure and function corresponds with higher cognitive faculties. Her findings are now the basis of two start-ups, Copilot MD and Incognito Health.

As Dr. Livny-Ezer says, “Believe in yourself and keep moving, just like a dancer.”
