Elections for Israel's nineteenth Knesset were held on January 22, 2013. The Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu parties forged an alliance of 31 of the 120 seats to become the largest parliamentary faction. Likud chairman Benjamin Netanyahu formed the government by bringing in the Yesh Atid, Jewish Home and Hatnuah parties to create a ruling coalition of 68 seats.
