Following the smothering of nationwide protests challenging Iran’s theocracy, Goren notes that US President Donald Trump appears to be backing down from his threats against Iran, possibly because the US hasn’t prioritized toppling the ayatollah regime.
With the technocratic board members chosen for a Gaza administration, Trump is determined to push forward to the second phase of his plan for the Strip, says Goren, despite the still unresolved issues of disarming Hamas and returning the final slain hostage, Ran Gvili, to Israel.
Kibbutz Be’eri is moving forward, too, with its reconstruction, reports Surkes, who says houses and public buildings are being rebuilt, primarily with Tekuma Directorate funding, and the residents are expected to return in the summer after a long period away from home.
Surkes also looks at the use of poultry manure as cattle feed in Israel, a practice that has been banned in many Western countries.
