Three Palestinians were arrested in overnight clashes with Israeli security forces in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya, police said on Friday.

The riots saw Issawiya youth hurl firebombs and stones at Israeli officers, according to police.

Hebrew media reports said a border policeman was lightly injured by a rock. That information was not immediately confirmed by the police.

Police said they dispersed the riots.

The East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya is a hotbed of violence, with frequent clashes between its Arab youth and Israeli police.

On Thursday, police said they arrested an 18-year-old suspected of throwing a rock at the light rail near the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat. There were no injuries in the incident, though damage was caused to a tram window.
