Average of 11 children wounded or killed every 24 hours in Lebanon, says UNICEF

An average of 11 children have been wounded or killed every 24 hours in Lebanon in the last week, UNICEF says.

Despite an ostensible ceasefire announced by the US on April 16, fighting has largely continued between Israel and the Hezbollah terror group, which attacked Israel on March 2 in support of Iran.

A total of 55 children have been killed, and 212 injured, since the announcement of the truce, according to the agency.

UNICEF spokesperson Ricardo Pires describes the toll as “staggering.”
