More details emerge on the terrorist infiltration south of the Dead Sea earlier today.

IDF observation soldiers from the 727th Battalion spotted suspects near the border with Jordan, and troops headed to the area, according to the IDF.

Two terrorists opened fire on the IDF soldiers, injuring an active-duty soldier and a reservist from the Home Front Command. Israeli forces killed the terrorists a few feet from the border fence.

The active duty soldier was lightly injured, and the reservist moderately hurt. Both were evacuated to a hospital.

The IDF and police are blocking roads in the area and are carrying out ground and air searches for a possible third terrorist.
