IDF: ‘Large number’ of Hezbollah operatives killed in strikes on Lebanon last night

A “large number” of Hezbollah operatives, members of the terror group’s missile array, were killed in Israeli airstrikes in eastern Lebanon last night, the IDF says.

The military says it targeted three command centers belonging to Hezbollah in the Baalbek area in the Beqaa Valley as part of the strikes.

According to Lebanese media, the strikes killed 10 and wounded some 30 others. The IDF says that the strikes “eliminated a large number of operatives belonging to the missile array of the Hezbollah terror organization.”

“The operatives were recently identified working to accelerate readiness and force build-up processes, while planning to fire toward the State of Israel and advancing terror attack plans that endanger IDF troops and the civilians of the State of Israel,” the military says in a statement.

The IDF says that Hezbollah’s missile array was “currently working to plan” rocket and missile attacks against Israel, and that the operatives’ activities “constitute a violation of the ceasefire understandings between Israel and Lebanon.”

“The IDF will continue to operate against any entrenchment and arming attempts conducted by Hezbollah, and will act decisively to remove any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel,” the military says, adding that it “continues to remain committed to the ceasefire.”
