IDF thwarts shooting attack on Gaza fence, no injuries

The IDF says it thwarted a shooting attack carried out by a terror cell in the northern Gaza Strip.

Two terrorists approached the coastal enclave’s security fence and fired towards IDF troops, the army says.

In response, the soldiers fired back at the terrorists and were joined by tanks and IAF fighter jets who also targeted three nearby military posts belonging to the Hamas terror group, the army said.

No injuries have been reported and no damage has been caused.

“This severe shooting attack is further proof that the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip use these violent riots in order to camouflage terror,” the army says

The IDF spokesman adds that Israeli troops fired toward suspects who had infiltrated into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip via the security fence.

The army asserts that Hamas is responsible for all of the violent riots taking place in the coastal enclave
