In the latest round of hostilities, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group has launched dozens of mortars at the Erez and Kerem Shalom border crossings with the Gaza Strip, authorities say.

In a joint statement, the Defense Ministry and the military’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories say the attacks will prevent the crossings from opening.

The crossings have been closed since Tuesday.

“The rocket fire at the crossings, as well as the failed rocket fire, harms the residents of the Gaza Strip,” the statement says.
