A number of mortars have been launched from Lebanon at Israeli military sites in the contested Mount Dov area on the border, according to the military.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces says it is looking into the details. It does not immediately provide information on potential casualties.

The IDF says it is returning fire against the source of the mortar fire in Lebanon.

The incident comes as Israel has traded fire with Hezbollah and allied Palestinian factions several times in Lebanon in recent days.
