Police announce the arrest of a suspect in the shooting that killed one person and seriously wounded another in central Israel’s Tayibe early on Sunday, when five members of the Arab community were killed within hours in separate incidents.

Police say the suspect in the Tayibe shooting is the divorced husband of a relative of the person who was killed in the incident, which an initial investigation has linked to an “intra-familial dispute.”

The suspect, in his 20s, is a resident of the Tayibe area and was found hiding in an apartment in nearby Tira, police say.

The arresting officers found improvised firearms in the suspect’s possession and also found the suspected murder weapon adjacent to the site of the arrest, according to police.
