Report: Mossad, CIA chiefs met yesterday to discuss hostage deal talks
Mossad chief David Barnea reportedly met CIA chief Bill Burns yesterday in an unidentified country in the region, likely Qatar, to discuss efforts to secure a hostage agreement with the Hamas terror group.
Quoting an unnamed source privy to the details, the Walla news site says that Burns updated Barnea on talks in Cairo over the past week.
Burns reportedly arrived in Qatar yesterday after quietly spending the previous day in Egypt, as the Biden administration makes what may be a last-ditch attempt to secure a hostage agreement before Ramadan begins at the beginning of next week.
The talks appeared to reach an impasse as a Hamas delegation left Cairo without any breakthrough reported in the talks being brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the US.
