Russia to seal off borders to foreigners over virus
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Russian government says it will close all its borders to foreign citizens this week, with the exception of permanent residents, because of the coronavirus.
The measure is announced in a statement from Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
He says that the measure, due to come into effect at midnight (local time) and run until May 1, is aimed at protecting public health in Russia, which has so far recorded 93 cases of the disease.
