Second Palestinian said killed in protest along Gaza security fence

A second Palestinian man has reportedly been killed during a mass protest along the security fence between Israel and Gaza.

Earlier Friday, the Gaza health ministry said a Palestinian farmer was killed by Israeli tank fire near Khan Yunis in the southern Strip. The man was identified by the Hamas-run ministry as Omar Wahid Sammour, 27.

Witnesses said he was working his land near the border when the shells hit. According to the army, “two suspects approached the perimeter fence… and engaged in suspicious behavior on the ground alongside it. In response, an IDF unit fired at them with a tank.”
