Three students in critical condition after caught in flash flood

Three students are in critical condition after having been rescued from a flash flood when their group got caught in a storm near the Dead Sea.

The three are currently being flown by helicopter to the Soroka hospital in Beersheva.

The Magen David Adom paramedic service says 15 students have been extricated so far.

The group of some 25 students is from a religious pre-military academy in the north of Israel.

The Israeli Air Force’s Elite 669 Search and Rescue Unit has been called in to search for the remaining students.
