Senior rabbi in Islamic countries meets Qatari emir

Alliance of Rabbis in Islamic States chairman Rabbi Mendy Chitrik met earlier today with Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the latter’s palace in Doha.
Chitrik led a delegation of rabbis offering their condolences over the recent death of Sheikh Tamim’s father and former Qatari emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
“I am grateful for his highness’s support in ensuring that Jewish life can flourish in Qatar and for enabling my son, Rabbi Eliyahu Chitrik, to serve the Jewish community and the many Jewish visitors to the country,” Chitrik tweets after the meeting.
My sincere thanks to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for warmly receiving our delegation of the Alliance of Rabbis in Islamic States today at Lusail Palace, together with HE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
