US President Donald Trump is meeting today with senior advisers and US cabinet members to discuss whether to escalate the conflict with Iran, according to The New York Times.
Iran and the US have been fighting for about two weeks after a truce and negotiations between the countries collapsed. Israel, which began the war alongside the US in late February, is not participating in the current fighting and was not party to the negotiations.
Yesterday, Trump told Axios that he is “considering a massive attack. Bigger than ever before.”
Trump has repeatedly threatened a major escalation in the fighting, only to back down and announce a diplomatic breakthrough.
