A car hung precariously in mid-air in Rishon Lezion Wednesday after it crashed through a barrier surrounding a giant pit at a construction site.

According to Hebrew-language media reports, the driver — said to be around 17 — was attempting to maneuver out of a parking space when he confused the gas and brake pedals and drove through the fence in the central city.

The SUV came to a stop, hanging at a steep angle with its front end approximately 15 meters from the ground.

In a video clip circulating on social media of the incident, an onlooker can be heard exclaiming “there are fucking people in the car!”

The driver and a passenger — also said to be around 17 years old — were eventually rescued when a bulldozer towed the vehicle back through the hole in the fencing.

The two were uninjured in the incident.

The incident came just days after a woman was killed and three other people were injured when a car jumped a sidewalk in a high-end shopping area in Tel Aviv, hitting several pedestrians.

An initial investigation found that a woman, 60, driving the car out of a parking spot in Kikar Hamedina had accidentally accelerated forward instead of reversing, causing the vehicle to careen onto the sidewalk, hitting pedestrians, and then crash into a storefront, the Kan public broadcaster reported.
