She also reviews the lifting of a gag order on the name of reservist Ari Rosenfeld, the IDF officer charged with stealing and transferring classified IDF information to a worker in the Prime Minister’s Office. Rosenfeld is being held in detention, and had argued to the court: “I cannot fight for my good name when I am in the dark. The public needs to know who I am, what I did, and what my intentions were.”
Surkes discusses a forthcoming article on a net-zero factory created by the founder of the Shoresh sandal empire in northern Israel and his aim to convince other industrialists and Israelis to follow his lead.
She also talks about the reopening of the Hula nature reserve in the north, and how its 14-month closure during the Hezbollah rocket attacks from Lebanon affected the birds that migrate through there in the spring and fall.
