The IDF arrested on Thursday morning an Islamic Jihad activist who was part of the prisoner exchange for Gilad Shalit, according to an Army Radio report. Hana Shalbi was arrested at her home in the village of Burqin, near the West Bank city of Jenin.

Acting upon intelligence reports that Shalbi’s current activities pose a security threat to Israel, the IDF transferred her to the General Security Services (Shin Bet) for interrogation. Shalbi is the third alleged terrorist to be re-arrested by Israel since the October 2011 prisoner swap in which Gilad Shalit was released in exchange for over 1,000 Palestinians in Israeli prisons.
