More than 24 hours have passed since it was reported that the body of a hostage was recovered by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in central Gaza, and Hamas has yet to inform Israel of a planned transfer.
The Islamic Jihad last night confirmed Al Jazeera’s reporting from earlier on Monday that the body of a hostage was found near Nuseirat.
Normally, Hamas announces its intention to return the bodies of hostages, regardless of which allied terror group was holding the remains, but it has yet to issue any statement. The Islamic Jihad also did not announce its intention to return the body.
The bodies of three slain hostages are still held in the Gaza Strip — Dror Or, Master Sgt. Ran Gvili and Thai national Sudthisak Rinthalak.
