Anan Jazmawi, a mother of three, has died of her wounds after her ex-husband threw a Molotov cocktail at her while she was in her car earlier this month in Harish.

Jazmawi’s ex-husband, from the coastal town of Jisr a-Zarqa, had threatened to kill her several times before the incident and had been convicted in the past on domestic violence offenses.

He was charged this week with attempted murder, Hebrew outlets report, and prosecutors are expected to update the charge in light of her death.

Doctors at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer pronounced the 46-year-old dead woman after she was hospitalized with critical injuries as a result of the attack. Paramedics at the time found Jazmawi lying conscious next to her vehicle, suffering from severe burns. She was taken to the hospital, sedated and put on a ventilator.

Jazmawi’s death three weeks after the attack makes her the 237th Arab homicide victim since the start of the year. Though most of the victims are killed in gang-related shootings or blood feuds, over a dozen Arab women have fallen victim to femicide in 2025, alongside 19 Jewish women, according to the Israel Observatory on Femicide. A total of 46 women have been killed over the past year, including 23 Arab citizens.
