Released hostage soldier Matan Angrest, who served in a tank in the 7th Armored Brigade’s 77th Battalion on the morning of October 7, was visited by his military commanders at Ichilov Hospital today, the IDF says.
The commander of the 36th Division, Brig. Gen. Moran Omer, commander of the Armored Corps, Brig. Gen. Ohad Maor, commander of the 7th Armored Brigade, commander of the 77th Battalion, and the former commanders of the 7th Brigade and 77th Battalion, paid him a visit for time since his release from Hamas captivity yesterday.
Angrest also reportedly spoke by phone with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, who himself started his military service in the Armored Corps.
“I can’t believe an Armored Corps soldier became chief of staff,” Angrest is cited by Channel 12 news as telling Zamir.
