Assad reportedly tells Iran latest strikes are ‘direct aggression against Syria’

Syrian President Bashar Assad calls the predawn strikes on a military base that killed mostly Iranian soldiers “direct aggression against Syria.”

The Hezbollah-affiliated news outlet Al-Akhbar says that Assad made the remarks earlier today during a meeting with Iranian military officials in Damascus.

Israel has not commented on the strikes, which some Arab media outlets have blamed on the Jewish state.
