Canada’s Conservatives post video supporting Israel
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThough support for Israel in Europe and North America has been strong over the course of Operation Protective Edge, Canada’s government, under Prime Minister Stephen Harper, has been a leading voice defending Israel’s right to self-defense against Hamas and Islamic Jihad attacks.
Canada’s ruling Conservative Party posts a video to YouTube, “Through fire and water,” reaffirming that support. The two-and-a-half-minute clip shows pictures of Canadian leaders in Israel and troops around the world, interspliced with speeches by Harper and Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird.
The video’s title comes from Harper’s January speech to the Knesset, in which he proclaimed, “Through fire and water, Canada will stand with you.”
