Commonwealth countries’ recognition of Palestinian state is ‘reward for jihadist Hamas,’ Israel says

The recognition of a Palestinian state by Commonwealth countries is a “reward” for Hamas, says Israel.
“Recognition is nothing but a reward for jihadist Hamas,” says the Foreign Ministry, “emboldened by its Muslim Brotherhood affiliated [sic] in the UK.”
“Hamas leaders themselves openly admit: this recognition is a direct outcome, the ‘fruit’ for the October 7 massacre,” the ministry continues on X.
“Don’t let Jihadist ideology dictate your policy.”
The statements from the UK, Canada, and Australia earlier today announcing recognition of an independent Palestinian state all stressed that there would be no role for Hamas in its future governance or security.
