Downed fighter pilot released from hospital

An F-16 fighter pilot who was seriously injured last week when he had to bail out of his jet is released from hospital and allowed to go home, a hospital spokesperson said.

The pilot and his navigator were forced to eject after the jet was apparently hit by shrapnel from Syrian anti-aircraft missiles during a raid on an Iranian base in Syria.

He was seriously wounded and taken to Rambam Hospital in Haifa where he underwent surgery.
