Egypt calls for emergency Arab League meeting on Ukraine
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleEgypt has called for an emergency Arab League meeting at the delegate level to discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Reuters reports.
Arab leaders have largely avoided taking public stances on the issue, with many of them having working ties with Russia. Syria is the only one to openly support Putin, while Lebanon has been among those condemning the invasion. The UAE abstained on a Security Council resolution condemning Russia.
